The Life of Evelyn Griffith
Evelyn Laster Griffith was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late John Oliver and Zeller Mae Laster. She attended the local schools in Duval County. She also completed classes for cake decorations, pottery, and flower arrangements. She was very good at all of them. She loved to cook, bake, and work in her yard.
Ms Evelyn was a member of the Master Touch Ministry, Pastor C Denise Phelps. She loved Sunday school and was a member of the Senior Choirs.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr & Mrs John O. Laster Sr, her late husband Willie Richard Griffith Sr, son Willie (Popa) Richard Griffith Jr, 4 brothers, two sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons Eric (Marain) and Gerald (April) Griffith, eight daughters Jannell (Eugene) Fultz, Rachel O. Holmes, Beverly (Wallace) Tyson, Cherrilyn (Lonnie) Jones, Loretta (Mike) Wells Sr, Denise (Derrick) Cotton, Kathy (Herbert) Smith, Amanda (Roy) Terry, brother Andrew Laster, four sisters Iriszola Jones, Barbara Henderson, Joyce Campbell (Minor), Patricia Laster, sister-in-law Evelyn Laster, daughter-in-law Linda Griffith, and twenty three grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren
A Visitation will be held from 2:30 PM to 4 PM Thursday January 21, 2021 in Evergreen Chapel 4535 Main Street Jacksonville, FL. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM January 22, 2021 in Evergreen Cemetery.
