Thomas E. Margaritis, 87, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida.
Born on December 6, 1938, Thomas dedicated much of his life to hard work and commitment. He served as a warehouse manager at the Maxwell House Coffee Factory from 1975 until his retirement, earning the respect of colleagues through his diligence and reliability.
He was a devoted member of Saint John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, where he found spiritual grounding and community throughout his life.
Thomas is lovingly remembered by his wife, Antonia; stepsons Efstathios (Melina) Raptis and Christos Raptis; and step-grandson George. He is also survived by his brothers Kostas (Elizabeth) Margaritis and George (Soteria) Margaritis, along with many nieces and nephews who held him in high regard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ekaterina and Efthimios Margaritis; his brother Vassilios (Eirini) Margaritis; and his sister Kassiani (Panayiotis) Kladouxos.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N Main St, Jacksonville, Florida 32206, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church in Thomas’s memory.
