Johnston, Ann Carter 3/26/1942 – 3/1/2016 Sun City, AZ Ann Carter Johnston, 73 passed away on March 1, 2016 following health issues. Ann was born on March 26, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Winnifred (Anderson) and Francis Moses Carter. She attended University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, where she earned a teaching degree, was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and where she met & married her husband, Clayton Seyler Johnston, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, who preceded her in death January, 2014. They moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan where they raised their daughters and cat, Chubbs. They moved to Toledo, OH where Ann enjoyed the Toledo Museum of Art, the river front restaurants and new friends, then St. Augustine, FL to retire then, to Arizona.
Ann truly enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, travel, her dear friends in the “Pot Luck Group”, shopping, and family gatherings. Grandma Ann was cherished for her funny sense of humor, artistic endeavors, book club, love of cookouts and picnics, trips to the beach, talking with her twin sister daily, and her great love of family.
Ann is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Steven) Huder, Appleton, WI; Suzanne (Michael) Clark, Cave Creek, AZ; grandchildren Dylan Cooper (Cambridge, MA), Caelan Cooper (Appleton, WI), Zachary Clark (Cave Creek) and Emma Clark (Cave Creek); brother Donald (Patricia) Carter of Scotts Valley, California; sister Doris (Robert) Rowe of Walker, MN; identical twin sister Joann (Wilford Tennyson) Stannard of Las Vegas, NV; brothers-in-law Karl (Heather) Johnston; Ronald (Shelley) Johnston; Rick Johnston and special friend Renee Black; sister-in-law Linda Johnston; and many nieces, nephews around the country and in Great Britain.
She was preceded in death by her sister Carol and brother in law David Ericson of Calgary, AB and her parents. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Ann on Friday, June 17, 2016 at the chapel of Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main St., Jacksonville, FL at 1:00 p.m.
