Basila Lopez

Basila Lopez was born on May 20, 1927. Passed away on August 16, 2024 at 97 years old. She was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. Moved to the United States when she was 39 years old. Mother of two children, Teodoro Padilla Lopez and Edwin Padilla Lopez. She has 5 grandchildren Eric Lopez, Danny Lopez, Charity Duchaussee, Javier Lopez, and Christina Lopez. She also has 8 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was also known as Dona Silo or Mama Silo. She worked at a sewing factory for 25 years in York, PA. Retired and moved to Florida from Pennsylvania in December of 1991. Survived by one brother out of 8 siblings.
Funeral Service will be Friday August 23rd at 10:30 AM in Evergreen Chapel, located on the grounds of Evergreen Cemetery 4535 Main Street Jacksonville, Florida 32206. The family will accept guests for a visitation between 9:30 AM and the beginning of the service.
