Belinda Gail Mathis (71) passed away on August 15, 2023.
She was born in Waycross, Georgia born to Geneva Robinson & James Lou Mathis and she was a 20 year resident of Jacksonville, FL. She Attended Center High School in Waycross, Georgia where she later moved to Miami, Florida and married Johnny Wilkins.
She is survived by her sons Rhyeaul Cairwell, Jamal Wilkins, Andre Thomas and daughters Raquel Mathis & Karen Thomas, grandchildren Ja’Dorian Mathis, Ja’Lyric Wilkins, Raina Cairwell,Niylah Cairwell, Rhyeaul Cairwell III, Nina Cairwell, and Sisters Lizzie Hill, Florence Riley, Mary Thomas and the late Martha Redding and Ellaree Freeman, brothers James Lee Mathis, Gregory Mathis.
Belinda was a strong believer that loved the Lord with all her heart and had a deep passion for cooking, for praying, the color red, gospel music, Betty Wright and others. She enjoyed every moment on Earth and always used the terms “Don’t accept any wooden nickels in life”. She was a member of St.Thomas Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida. She will truly be missed by all.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Saturday September 2nd, 2023 in Evergreen Cemetery 4535 Main Street Jacksonville, Florida. A visitation will held held for one hour prior in Evergreen Chapel.
