Betty Boos

Boos, Betty Jo (Webb) age 92, passed away on October 9,2021 at Community Hospice & Palliative Care.

She was born on December 3, 1928 and was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Marvin Lee Boos, Sr., her parents, William David Webb and Ruby Lee (Hurst) Webb and three sisters, Clara Louise Kirkland (James Talmadge), Idell Ruby Webb and Anna Lucile Conerly (James Edwin Conerly, Sr.).  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her greatest joy was her family and her church.She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ft. Caroline Ward.  From her early teenage years until her death, she was involved with music, having played for many recitals, weddings, funerals, and church services.  She was employed by the City of Jacksonville Civil Service Board and Personnel Department in 1945, retiring in 1966.  She was a member of the Retired City Employees Association where she served as secretary for 23 years, retiring there in 2002.She is survived by: a son, David Louis Boos (Sandy) of Jacksonville and a step-son, Marvin Lee Boos, Jr. (Cecilia) of Welaka, Florida.  Grandchildren: Christine Lee Boos (Jason) and Jaime Lynn Johns (Anthony) of Jacksonville, FL.  Great Grandchildren: Annabella Denise Johns, David Robert Johns, Addison Hope Boos, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.Services will be held at 11am on 10/16/2021 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1679 Dunn Ave Jacksonville, FL 32218.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the church service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery 4535 Main St Jacksonville, FL 32206.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Community Hospice & Palliative Care on Sunbeam Rd.

    David and Family Members: May the Peace of Our Lord be with you during this difficult time. We were truly blessed to worked with both your Mom and Dad during their long careers with the City and the Retired Employees Association. Wonderful folks, caring and sharing with others, a great tribute to their lives.
