Betty Jean Simmons Frye, age 61, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Thursday September 23rd, 2021 at UF Shands 8th St Jacksonville, Florida.

Betty Jean was born January 19th, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida to John and Lessie Simmons.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents John T and Lessie Simmons and brother Billy Joe Simmons and son Derrick Frye.

Betty Jean is survived by sons David Frye Jr (Tabitha), Daniel Frye, Brandon Gill (Kira), daughter Angela Hall (Marshall), 8 grandchildren who she loved very much – Tyler Frye, Kalyse Frye, L.J. Hall, Logan Hall, Kaiden Hall, Luke Hall, Christian Frye, Josiah Frye, Zechariah Frye, nephew Billy Joe Simmons Jr, niece Lisa Simmons, special cousins Mary Frances Duncan, Karen Tucker, Randy Duncan Jr, Lisa Hall, and Jason Hall.

We would like for Betty to be remembered for her unselfish giving. She would give you food even if she did not have much, her last dollar, whatever you needed if she had it then so did you.  She always shared so many laughs and good memories.

They broke the mold when God made her. She was the best mother she could be, best friend, best cousin, and she will be truly truly missed by all.

Funeral Service will be Friday October 1, 2021 at 2 PM in Evergreen Chapel 4535 Main Street Jacksonville, Florida 32206. A visitation will be held in the chapel for one hour prior to the service.

    Mrs Betty is the sweetest spirit I’ve known in a long time. She was always available and always was positive. She had a nurturing nature and a fun since of humor. She is appreciated loved and will be truly missed by me. I’ll never forget her.

    It’s with a saddened heart that I acknowledge the fact that heaven got another angel when we lost Betty, such a sweet, kind God loving lady. A strong woman , she just faced whatever life had to offer. I miss just knowing she’s here doing her thing??? She was just lovable, thank you for taking care offand being mom to my niece, you did a good job❤️Love you see you again one day. Give Larry hugs for me??
