Bobby Dent, a 91 old Christian man, passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Fleming Island, FL. He was born on December 10, 1929 in Fort Valley, Georgia and moved to Jacksonville, FL to marry his lifetime love, Gloria. Bobby served in the Marines during the Korean war and worked for decades at the JEA as a foreman until he retired.
Bobby loved his family, fishing, cooking, barbeque, gardening and yelling at the TV during a passionate football game. Much of his free time was spent farming in his backyard or with family members in Callahan. He was also an active churchgoer and retired Deacon at First Baptist Church Jacksonville for decades.
Bobby is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 71 years, Gloria, and daughter Darlene. He is survived by his daughter Teresa (Scott) Knight, 2 grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Knight, and Devin (Erin) Knight, and 7 great-grandchildren, Colton, Liam, Camille, Collin, John, Lana, and Justin.
A memorial service will be held graveside on Friday, 2/26/2021 at 2pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Seamark Ranch, (https://www.seamarkranch.com/donate).
