Brandy Shawn Brewer

Brandy Shawn Brewer

Our hearts are heavy to announce the passing of our beloved Brandy Shawn Brewer, on January 26, 2026.  Brandy was born on October 11, 1976, in Jacksonville, Florida.

She is survived by her three children that she cherished above all else: Charles Drew Lambert, Cali Elaine Jenkins, and Calvin Earl Jenkins; her brother Jeffrey Brewer, father Robert Brewer, mother Jeanette Devine, stepfather Jim Devine, sister-in-law Samantha Brewer, daughter-in-law Tatiana Lambert, aunts Cheryl Demske (Mike), Rhonda Lofton, and Linda Kitchens, and KD Jenkins, who she spent many years of her life with.

Brandy so loved her family and was the oldest of her cousins whom she was raised with and adored: Ellisha, Jeremy, Kristy, Kerrie, Benji, Jill, Samantha and Aubrey.

She was heartbroken by the death of many of her beloved family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones.

“Bran,” as her close family called her, loved the beach and being in the sun, swimming, boating, riding bikes, jet skis, going to the park, gardening, cooking for her family, and reminiscing about the ‘old days’.  She loved movies (her favorite Dirty Dancing), music (Sailing by Christopher Cross), and taking her dog Crispy for walks.

You could recognize her presence from her contagious laughter; she always had a funny story.  Bran was the rare soul who truly loved everything: the smell of rain, birdwatching, the chaos of a crowded kitchen on family nights, and every stray animal she ever met, which is how she found her dog and cat.

We know there are so many other family and friends too numerous to name that she leaves behind who loved her and will miss her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you give to your favorite charity or to the Humane Society.

A private service will be held for her with family, friends and loved ones to commemorate her life and spirit.

“Sailing… Takes me away to where I’ve always heard it could be.  Just a dream and the wind to carry me.  Soon I will be free.”

I hadn’t seen Brandy and her energetic free spirit in awhile.
She was always kind to me when I did.
I warmly remember a night a long while back , when I ran into her while out and she sweetly introduced me to each one of her friends as her mom’s friend, and we shared some good stories and laughs .
    Sail on sweet girl.

I’m so sad that such a young person was taken from us. My heart goes out to her children and my family. I’ve made a contribution to the American Humane Society.

To my very first best friend, my sweet Brandy,

I have so many thoughts, memories, and things I want to share with the world so they, too, will know what a special place you held in all of our hearts—so many things about you that I never want to forget. I wish we had more time together, and I will always wish for one more moment with you.

It feels impossible to fit the depth of this loss into words, because no tribute could ever fully capture how much you meant to all of us. I still cannot believe I will never hear your incredible laugh again or be swept up in one of your hilarious stories.

I am grateful I was able to speak at your services and share even a small piece of my love for you. I hope that, even if my words couldn’t say everything I felt, you knew my heart and that I made you proud. I hope I gave you a smile or two. To lose someone so kind, yet funny and animated leaves our lives already less bright, less fun, less animated… just less.

    We miss you so much.

    Bran,
We had your service yesterday. We tried to give you a good memorial, I thought it went really well…considering. A lot of people came to remember you. We shared some laughs and some tears. Your kids have been really engaged and brave through this whole thing and I’m so proud of them. You did good with them. I always thought you were a good mom, I thought you did best you could and you were always thinking of them. I’m not as strong as you with this but I’m trying to be a comfort to them, it doesn’t feel like enough. They miss you. We’ve all lost something. Grateful to have spent some time with you and mom before you left us.
You did, however, make it to the church on time. (wink)
    Love ya…

    Bran,
We’ve been cousins since day 1 and being friends was a bonus. .No matter how long it had been we always picked up like it was yesterday. We laughed, caught up, complained, gossiped, hugged and always said we loved each other. I have so many stories and memories of us doing the absolute craziest things together, up to the last time I saw you. You will be missed more than you could ever know.
    Love always,
    Lish
