Charlotte Conrad Edwards

Charlotte Conrad Edwards, aged 103, peacefully passed away at her home last Wednesday, September 24, 2024, surrounded by her family. Charlotte lived a long fulfilling life, born on April 10, 1921, in Winston-Salem, NC., was the 12th of 14 children. She loved God and her family more than anything and was quick to tell anyone she turned her life over to the Good Lord in 1937 when she was 16 years old! After graduating from high school her sights were set on beauty school, she went on to be a licensed Beautician in 3 states and actually worked in the Pentagon. Charlotte met her husband, the love of her life, at a Military Ball in 1951 and was married shortly thereafter to Billy Sunday Edwards, in Washington, DC. After 12 years of “washing dirty heads” she retired from her 1st career and at 32 years of age started her favorite job ever…”Mom”, welcoming their 1st born son Conrad in 1953, quickly followed by Carol Sue, Charlene then Jesse, John and in 1963 the baby Robert arrived at which time she declared…”NO MORE BABIES”. 6 children in less than 10 years. Fast forward to her final stage of life…Grandbabies, she has 15 beautiful grandchildren and 15 precious, Great-Grandchildren! Charlotte loved to travel and has been on 15 cruises, visited 21 islands, 2 countries, a couple of ski trips, several concerts and numerous camping trips, the last one just 2 months ago to meet her newest great granddaughter. Through all stages of life, she shared her creativity through her artwork which she loved gifting. Charlotte will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.
