Cynthia Suzanne Thornton, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Monday, July 25th, 2022. She was born on December 6th, 1963, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville to Randy and Frances (Thompson) Thornton.
Since her birth, she had been a source of happiness and joy to everyone she encountered. She was funny, sassy, and loved her family with a passion. She never met a stranger. She loved to travel, and she loved her country music.
Cynthia is survived by her sister Pat O’Steen (Bill); nephews, Wayne DuClos, Mike DuClos (Lori), Billy O’Steen, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Randy and Frances; her grandparents; niece, Tracy O’Steen Stanley, and cousin Hope Wheeler.
We would like to thank Pine Castle for the many years of enjoyment she had being part of their family. She loved her work there and the opportunity it gave her to be a part of something other than her family life.
We would also like to send special thanks to all of the health care workers who helped make Cynthia’s last years happy and comfortable. This includes her home health care staff and the staff of Care Centers of Nassau where she spent the last two and a half years of her life.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 4th at the Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, 4535 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Pastor Bronson Clemons will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery following the service. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Evergreen Funeral Home – (904) 353-3649.
