Daisy H. Robinson, age 83, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on March 27th, 2023, surrounded her loved ones. She suffered a long-embattled illness and was in home hospice, in Jacksonville, Florida.  Daisy was born on May 30th, 1939, in Richmond, Missouri to Harold F. Wilson and Lucille Wilson.  She graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond, Missouri and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in education from Central Missouri College which was obtained with high honors.  She moved to Rialto, California where she accepted a teaching position with Fontana Unified School District at Sequoia Jr. High/Middle School.  She taught mathematics and sat as the Honor Society Advisor. She served as a board member of the District Expulsion and Resolution Review Board which allowed her to mentor many young people through the years prior to retirement.  Daisy was a dedicated and inspiring educator for 33 years.  Not only was she dedicated to teaching, but Daisy also loved the Lord and was very active as a Steward in the Christ Temple C.M.E. Church until she fell ill in 2020.

Daisy is predeceased by her husband Alton Robinson; parents Harold and Lucille Wilson of Missouri; brothers, Horace D. Wilson, Gerald Wilson and Harold Wilson Jr., Carol Wilson (wife of Horace D. Wilson); niece, Lucille Prevost of Texas, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Daisy leaves behind her stepson Steven McCoy of California, nieces, Linda Palmer of Rhode Island, Cheryl Elam of Florida, and nephews, Charles Wilson of Texas, Donald Wilson of Rhode Island, and Robert Wilson of Massachusetts along with many great and great-grand nieces and nephews.  Also left behind are cousins Kenneth Randle Jr., Bonnie Randle, Conchita Thomas, Taft Sales, and Stacy Bryan all of Texas, Roxie Harper of Kansas, and a host of other relatives and many loving friends, colleagues, and past students. Daisy touched the lives of many and will be greatly appreciated and missed by all that knew her.

A Celebration of Life inurnment will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 29th at Evergreen Cemetery in their Memorial Garden.  Pastor Larry T. McTaw will preside.  Evergreen Cemetery is located at 4535 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206.  Families sending potted plants are asked to have them delivered to the family’s homes in lieu of the cemetery.
