David Lee Johnson

David Lee Johnson, born on January 30, 1961, to Betty and Leonard Johnson in Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024. A beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, David’s life was marked by his deep love for family and the great outdoors.

David was the proud father of his son, Devan Johnson. He is survived by his two brothers, Raymond Johnson and Tony (Denise) Johnson, and his two sisters, Lillian “Sis” (Colleen) Johnson and Rita (Alan) Prescott, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.  David was preceded in death by his parents as well as sister, Pam Fiser, whose memory he cherished dearly.

A man of many passions, David found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending countless hours in nature, where he felt most at peace. Another one of David’s many hobbies was grilling, David enjoyed cooking on the grill any chance he got. David enjoyed bowling with his family; with his high game of 290 consisting of 11 strikes followed by a gutter!- In which the family lovingly teased him about. His love for sports cars, particularly Corvettes, was well-known among his family and friends, who often admired his enthusiasm and knowledge about them.

David was a man of generosity and kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His giving nature was a testament to his character, as he often went out of his way to support and care for others, embodying the spirit of selflessness.

His family and friends will remember him for his fierce loyalty and the warmth he brought into their lives. David’s legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him.

In honoring David’s memory, his family invites those who knew him to celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of many. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of David’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 11th at the Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, 4535 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206.  The chapel is located at the base of the bell tower on the grounds of Evergreen Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of Evergreen Funeral Home – (904) 353-3649.
