Donna Thompson

Donna Thompson, 84, of Jacksonville, FL sadly left us on March 13, 2023, surrounded by loved ones when she passed.

She was a West Virginia native who made Jacksonville her home in the later 1950s, raising her children on Heckscher Drive. You could find her frequently golfing at Fort George or Pompano Beach Golf Course. She was known for winning her Friday night dominos game with anyone who wanted to challenge her. She was Times Union’s favorite Sunday morning crossword puzzle-solver. She led her career by facilitating economic growth and investment with corporations by implementing the Enterprise Zone Program with her partner Max Watson.

She is survived by her beloved children, Daughter, Vicki Smid (Husband-John), her three Sons: Terry Thompson (Wife-Diane), Brian Thompson (Wife-Tiffany), and Todd Thompson (Wife-Helene), as well as her 7 grandchildren: Samantha, Sabrina, TJ, Delaney, Rebecca, Elijah, and Sienna. She was preceded in death by her partner: Max Watson.

Donna Thompson had the kindest heart and was generous with her love to anyone in her presence. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A visitation for remembrance of Donna Thompson will begin at 10 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery and Funeral Home, 4535 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
