Thanks for thinking about and acknowledging my Dad during this time of his transition.
I will always remember him as the kind, loving and caring person that he was through his life. Never hesitating to help me in any way he could.
Mr. Elbert and Ms. LulaMae were a definite part of my life as they and my parents were very close friends. They were like my second set of parents. Mr. Elbert was very quiet and was always doing something around the house.
With him passing, he is taking one of my secrets to the grave with him. Just kidding. I was at the Sheraton in my groupie days trying to get a picture of either the Isley Brothers or The Commodores. I saw Mr. Elbert in the hallway and started ducking and hiding trying to get away from him so he wouldn’t tell my mother. Mind you I was a whole grown woman but seeing him sent me back to at least 10 years old. I got up out of there as fast as I could! I never heard anything about it from my mom, so I think I got away with it. But don’t b trying to tell her now as y’all got better things to do up there in heaven.
To the family of Deacon Cain, I am grateful that my late husband and I were ordained alongside him and his late wife. And we served together as deacon and deaconess. I have known Deacon Cain for a very long lifetime. Growing up in the area. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family. 🕊️👏🏾💐
