Elizabeth Ann Coughlin passed away peacefully at Flagler Hospital on June 26, 2020. A graduate of Immaculate Conception Catholic High School, she was a Jacksonville native and spent most of her life in the area.
Liz had a special gift for making those around her feel special and loved. She greeted her family members with a big smile, and not only told them how much she loved them upon her arrival, but several times throughout a visit. She was a talented artist, and created beautiful paintings and lifelike sketches even in her later years. She loved keeping up with sports, especially the Florida Gators, the Miami Marlins, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Liz worked in the insurance industry for many years, and was a very independent person.
She was everyone’s favorite aunt, and her nieces and nephews could do no wrong in her eyes. Her unconditional love and genuine compliments will be missed by many.
Liz is predeceased by her husband Richard, her brothers Daniel and Ted Japour, her sister Virginia Singletary, her parents Rita and Peter Japour, and her nephews Harold Japour and Wayne Singletary, all from Jacksonville, FL. She is survived by her sister Teresa Hudgins of St. Augustine, FL, her nephews Frank Japour (Patricia), Ray Singletary (Flo), and Kirk Hudgins of Jacksonville, FL, James Hudgins of Grand Rapids, MI, nieces Rita George (Bo) of St. Augustine, FL, and Kathy Singletary of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by many beloved great–grandnieces and great-grandnephews, as well as several great–great-grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom will miss their sweet Aunt Liz.
Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Evergreen Funeral Home for family only, followed by graveside services at 2:30 pm, also at Evergreen Cemetery.
