Elizabeth “Betty” Shannon Gordon

Elizabeth Shannon Gordon (Betty), of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025. She was 85. Elizabeth was born February 15, 1940 in Dawson, Georgia, she was the daughter of Ruben Jay Shannon and Mae Kate (Hayes) Shannon.

She attended school at Matthew W Gilbert, she was a CNA.  Some of her hobbies were shopping, traveling, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and caring for others.  She also loved going to the park and the beach and was big on family gatherings.

She is survived by her sons: Walter James Gordon, Keith Bernard Gordon (Neda), Robert Eugene Gordon and Ullern Arnold Gordon (Monica) and Gerald Dwayne Gordon Her siblings:  John Shannon (Carolyn), Ora Lee Tyson, Gladys Davis, Gloria Groomes (Elijah), Alfreda Davis (Ceasar), Keith Shannon, Kenneth Shannon (Ann), Esther Pulliam (Vincent), Terrie Rushing (Terry) as well as 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren

Preceded her in death: Mae Kate Shannon (mother), Ruben J Shannon (father),  James Gordon Jr (husband), Judy Ann Gordon (daughter), Leo Lavert Gordon (son), Cornelius Leon Gordon (son), Lawrence Michael Gordon (son)

Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 10th at the Westside Church of Christ, 23 8th Street West #3677, Jacksonville, Florida 32206. Visitation will be on Friday, January 9th also at the church from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.  Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N Main Street, Jacksonville, FL following the funeral.
