BEDELL (SNYDER), Elizabeth Follin
Elizabeth (Betty) Follin Snyder Bedell of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on November 10. She was born on March 26, 1940 to parents Ralph Edward Snyder and Elizabeth (Liz) Follin Snyder, both of Jacksonville. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Alexander Snyder, and son Charles Edward Bedell. Betty is survived by her daughter, Liz Bedell Coyle of Atlanta, GA, and son George Sullivan Bedell of La Plata, MD; grandsons, Grant and Dylan Coyle, Grant’s wife Alison, and great-grandson Harrison Cecil Coyle, all of Atlanta; daughter-in-law Kari Kirwin Bedell, and granddaughter, Evelyn Mae Bedell; first cousin Patricia (Patsy) Follin Robinson; and many very dear, lifelong friends. She is lovingly remembered by all for her spirit, wit, sense of fun and many talents.
Betty graduated from Bartram School for Girls, attended Hollins College, and earned her Master’s degree from the University of North Florida. She was a long-time, active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church; a founding editor of Kalliope: a journal of women’s literature & art; a member of The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in The State of Florida, and a lifetime member of the Florida Yacht Club.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, at Evergreen Cemetery (Gate 5 entrance off Evergreen Avenue), in the Follin Family plot.
