Geri Morgan Tucker

Geri Morgan Tucker

Geri was born in DeFuniak Springs Florida on February 6,1940 to her parents Gordon & Rosa Mae Spence. She passed away April 1 at 1:30 AM. She had a family of 3 sisters, Wynell Rice, Lauris McMillion, Carolyn Gorman & a brother Ronald Spence. She is preceded in death by her parents & two sisters Wenell & Lauris. She has a large extended family that stretches from Texas to the Florida panhandle where there are numerous nieces & nephews.
She was married to John W Morgan Sr who passed away too early in 1983 & lived in Jacksonville Florida. She was eventually married to Gerald Tucker & spent many happy years in Orange Park Florida until his passing.
Geri was a beloved mother of two, a daughter Jan Morgan of Jacksonville & son Buzz Morgan of Gainesville, Florida. She was unfortunately preceded in death by Jan’s passing in 2021. She has two grandsons, Brandon & Brooks Morgan who she continued teaching how to live a faithful life that has impacted their own families. Brandon & Emily Morgan have given her two great granddaughters, Anna Kate & Millie Morgan of Gainesville that just creates a smile that lights up the room when she’s around them. Katlyn Morgan, wife of Brooks has helped round out the family & created a sense of pride that will help carry on her legacy in both their families.
Growing up in a Christian household created a foundation of faith that she carried in her life that was on display to all that met her. This faith carried her through many of life’s misfortunes but remained a beacon of light to so many. She was a member of Orange Park Methodist church where she developed some deep friendships.
Those that know Geri would surely describe her in many interesting ways. Led by her faith, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt & friend. She was dynamite in a small package & Geri loved her Florida Gators. She continued to watch & root them on until her last breath & still has a Tim Tebow poster on her porch because she appreciated what he stands for.
As a little Southern lady, she had on display the determination, courage & strength of a lion. She was the recipient of a liver transplant 30 years ago & her family is blessed to have had this time on earth with her through the significant sacrifice of someone else.
Although she will be missed and many tears will be shed, the impact she had on those that remain, is the real testimony of life, one that she can be extremely proud of.
A special mention of Angie Bahr, her niece that became her full time care giver & friend while she was preparing to celebrate with her family in heaven.

Graveside Burial to be held 10 AM April 12th, 2025 in Evergreen Cemetery 4535 Main St Jacksonville, FL 32206. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM in Orange Park Methodist Church 2051 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073. Arrangements by Evergreen Funeral Home (904) 353-649.

Although I just met Ms. Geri in her last days I enjoyed every second I was with her. Her spirit and personality filled a room!
