Isaac Young, Jr.

Isaac Young, Jr., affectionately known as “Snooky,” heard the voice of his Heavenly Father say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” on March 15, 2026.

Isaac attended Stanton Vocational School, graduating in 1970.  After graduation, Isaac went to work for Jacksonville Ginter Box Company as a machine operator.  In March of 1978, Isaac began his career as a Longshoreman at the International Longshoremen Association Local 1408.  After 30 plus years with the union, Isaac retired to enjoy the fruits of his labors.

Isaac is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, the love of his life, Monnie Young, his children; Ashley Nicole Young, Isaiah Young(Courtnee), Mia Young, and Robert Young, his grandchildren; Isaiah Young II, Jeremiah Young, and Skylar Young.  Isaac is also survived by his sisters; Beatrice Richardson (Curtis), Pastor Bertie Vereen, and Mary Young.  Also surviving are sisters-in-law Lessie Mae Stokes, Easter Waddell, Geneva Young and brother-in-law Clifford Young, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Isaac was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Young Sr. and Berdell Young, his beloved daughter Farrah Young, his sisters; Darline Dorsey (Rickey) and Ira Kirtsey, and his brother John Young.

Isaac’s family would like to extend a special thankyou to the care teams that provided compassionate health care to Isaac during his illness.

Also, a special thankyou to the International Longshoremen Association Local 1408 members and retirees for their love and support during this time.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 27th at First Timothy Baptist Church, 12103 Biscayne Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.  Visitation at the church will begin at 10:00 am and continue  until funeral service.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of Evergreen Funeral Home – (904) 353-3649.

    Sending heartfelt condolences to the family of my good friend, Snooky. A life well lived and a legacy that will never be forgotten, I am truly grateful to have known him. To Monnie and the kids, Sharon & I will keep you all in our prayers and if you need anything we’re here for you.

    My loving father Isaac young was an amazing and caring man. If he decided to leave someone’s name off then it was for a very good reason. Why mention someone’s name who did nothing but disrespect my father while he was alive and never had the decency to apologize. My father’s soul is well with the lord so we’re not gonna waste our time dealing with people that he never met, let alone acknowledge a man who meant him no well.
