James Arthur Canady, 73 of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away at Orange Park Medical Center on July 6th, 2023 surrounded by his family.
James was born to Mary Sallie Canady and Howell James Ingram in Jacksonville FL on November 16th, 1949. He grew up in Riverview on the north side of Jacksonville. He was adopted at seven years old by William Leroy Canady Jr. He graduated from Ribault High School in 1967 where he met the love of his life and caretaker of 55 years Dollie Ann Davis. James and Dollie married on November 24th, 1967. He then joined the United States Navy, serving for 6 years in Lemoore California. He joined the Masonic Lodge Ionic 101 of Jacksonville in the 1970s. He was also a Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Shriner.
Through the years James enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, traveling all 50 states with his wife, taking his children and grandchildren on multiple trips, anything Disney, an avid photographer and videographer, and a foodie through and through.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Sallie Canady, his father Howell James Ingram, and his adopted father William Leroy Canady Jr.
He is survived by his beloved wife Dollie Canady of 55 years, son William (Raquel) Canady, son Michael (Katy) Canady, grandchildren Katlin (Gabriel) Morgan, Kimberly, and Kelsey Canady, his six sisters, his stepmother Peggy Ingram and his lifelong friend Jackie H (Debbie) Hurley along with various cousins, nieces, and nephews.
