Janice Anderson Pickett

Janice Anderson Pickett 91, passed April 25 2023 after a lengthy illness. She was born and grew up in Garden City New York. She married Robert E. Pickett Sr., after completing Skidmore college, they were high school sweethearts and together 42 years. They moved to Jacksonville, in 1952.  Mrs. Pickett taught school, at Windy Hill elementary, for 29 years. She enjoyed gardening, nature and was a member of the Jacksonville Zoo and Grove Park Garden circle. She loved family and friends. She is survived by her son Bob Pickett and his significant other Deborah DeGarmo, daughter Linda Carol Pickett, and one of her many dogs, Mandy. A private service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery May 2nd.
