Jenifer B. Watt

Jenifer B. Watt, lovingly known as “Jenny” to her friends and family passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. While her family mourns her loss, they take comfort in knowing she is the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jenifer was born on July 29, 1948 in Brunswick, GA to the late Martha Lee Lovell and Arnold Patterson Benton, Sr.

Jenifer was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Nicholas Watt of Indianapolis, IN and by her siblings, Deloris Fulton, Arnold Patterson “Bud”Benton Jr., Jerome Benton, Margaret Wallace, and Kenneth “Bo” Benton.

She is survived by her brothers Norman and Terry Benton, who shared many cherished childhood memories with her.

Jenifer was a devoted mother and grandmother, affectionately called “Memaw”, whose greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind four children:

  • Teela Gleason and her husband Paul J. Gleason
  • Rebekah Tisdale and her life partner, Nickie Ross
  • Paula Lawrence
  • Nicholas Watt and his wife, Kerri Chambers Watt

She was a proud Memaw to Brandon Farmer of Yulee, FL and Caitlin Zulon, who is married to Miguel “Mike” Zulon. Jenifer was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Zayn Maddox (age 2) and Lennia Drew (7 months), who brought immense joy to her later years.

Jenifer attended Tech High School and began her professional career with Elder Mayflower as a bookkeeper, where she worked for seven years. She later continued her career at Maryland Cup Corporation as an executive administrative assistant. While she was dedicated to her work, the role she cherished most was the one she always dreamed of- being a homemaker and mother.  Jenifer poured her heart into raising her children, teaching them life lessons, and surrounding them with unconditional love.

Those who knew Jenifer remember her fighting spirit, her generous heart, and the way she would put others before herself. She had a deep love for family gatherings, laughter, and especially playing board games, creating countless memories with the people she loved most.

Jenifer’s kindness, strength, and devotion to her family will be remembered and treasured forever.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2026, at the Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel (4535 N Main St, Jacksonville FL 32206) at 10:00AM. Go rest high on that mountain little sister girl your work on earth is done. Love you.
“for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
