Jonnie Pearl Davies

Born:12/30/1927
Died:01/17/2018

Jonnie P. Davies passed away January 17.

She is preceded in death by her husband William Davies, and her son Kenneth Davies.

She is survived by her daughters Cathy Hiers and Dianne Sigler, as well as five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Jonnie spent most of her life in Jacksonville, although her life travels took her to California pursuing a career of passion in dance. In later years, she taught dancing to young people and adults. During this time, she supported World War II war efforts by working in a factory packing parachutes for pilots. Eventually, she married a Navy pilot to whom she shared her life with until his death in 2007.

Jonnie was a very creative person. She expressed her creativity in her oil paintings, crafts, sewing projects and doll houses. She always enjoyed sharing her knowledge and laughter with children. Her house was a collection of toys, dolls and games; frequently the gathering place for the neighborhood children. She shared the creative and fun-loving side of herself with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her presence enriched her family’s lives. She lived her life loving those around her. She will be greatly missed and we will always celebrate the life of Jonnie P. Davies in our memories, our hearts and the lessons she taught us.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday January 20th, 2018 at Evergreen Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are with Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory 4535 Main Street Jacksonville, Florida 32206 (904) 353-3649.
