Joyce Eney McCarthy

Joyce Eney McCarthy

On Friday, November 28th, our deeply beloved Joyce McCarthy left this world to go onto her next adventure.

Though we will mourn her leaving us, we will remember the funny, bright, charming, and hilarious woman she was.

Born in 1942, in Jacksonville, Joyce had a flair for life and a stubborn determination that made her a force of nature. She spent her life raising her children, both biological and the ones she adopted through the years. To her grandchildren she brought magic and mischief, going as far as splattering the kitchen with cake batter and having water fights indoors.

She is survived in death by her son Pete (Melanie) of Clermont and her daughter Kellie (Steve) of Gotha. Her grandchildren; Savanna (Mason), Nick, Ethan, Will, and her great-grandchildren Luna and Eli (Savanna). She also left behind her little dog Emma who was a bright spot in her life and her best friend these last few years.

While she will be deeply missed, she will remain in our hearts, and her spirit will live on in us all.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am, Friday, December 5th, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206. Please look for the green tent on the right as you enter the Cemetery’s main gate off of Main Street. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Evergreen Funeral Home – (904) 353-3649.
