Joyce Yvonne Holloway was born in Jacksonville on August 31, 1940 and received her heavenly angel wings on September 14, 2021. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, friend, neighbor and the best nanny there ever was.
Joyce was preceded in death by her cherished husband, John Thomas Holloway Sr., mother Ida Dixon Jordan, and father Vernon Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Yvonne Phillips.
She is survived by her other 4 children; Donna Marie Geiger, Christopher Lee Holloway, John (Johnny) Thomas Holloway and Cynthia Irene Hines Holloway. 7 grandchildren; Michele Marie Geiger Corwin, Travis Wesley Geiger, Justin Garrett, Ryan Garrett (preceded in death), Joey Holloway, Michael Holloway, Shawn M Holloway, Kyle Plasters and 15 great grand-children.
Joyce is also survived by her 2 sisters; Gail Adams and Latrelle Raker and 2 brothers; Cedric Jordan (Ray), Cary Jordan (Eva) along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Joy Yvette Jordan and brother Vernon “JR” Jordan.
Joyce had just celebrated her 81st birthday. She loved her family, bowling, bingo and waiving at the entire neighborhood where was she known as the “Queen of Cedarbrook”. She was quiet, but a firecracker and if she spoke up, you better listen … she meant every word.
We will all miss her very much and her heart will live on in us and in our waives to others.
Joyce’s life will be celebrated Monday September 20, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery (4535 N Main St. Jacksonville, FL 32206).
Visitation is from 2pm to 3pm and the service will be held from 3pm-4pm.
