Juanita Gravois McClendon passed away in Jacksonville, Florida on Tuesday, April 2, 2025, at the age of 95 years. She was born in Warren, Arkansas and was predeceased by her husband, Earl J. McClendon, Sr., her parents George and Mattie Gravois and her brothers, Joe Ben Gravois and Willie Judge Gravois.
Juanita is survived by her son Earl J. “Bunker” McClendon, II (Ginger), daughter Sandra M. “Sandy” Huntley (Arthur), grandson Flynn M. Huntley (Amy) and many nieces and nephews.
She was raised in the South Mississippi Delta. After graduation from Glen Alan High School, she moved to Greenville, Mississippi and began a long career with Southern Bell (AT&T). During most of their remarkable 70 years of marriage, Juanita and her husband Earl lived in their beloved Greenville, Mississippi and raised their family.
A service followed by burial will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to a charitable organization of choice.
