BUCKMAN, Kathleen “Kitty” Borland (1935-2015) Kathleen “Kitty” Borland Buckman passed away on March 18, 2015. She was a native of Jacksonville, Florida and the daughter of Dr. James L. Borland, Sr. and Kathleen Scott Randolph. She graduated from Bartram School for Girls and Florida State University. She spent her entire career teaching learning disabled children and adults to read. She was widowed from the love of her life, Yardley D. Buckman, Sr., on her 37th birthday. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Donia Lowe and Alice Lowe Edney and her brother, Robert Lowe. She is survived by her two children, Kathleen “Mimi” Buckman Stephens (Michael) and Yardley Drake Buckman, II (Amiee), her grandchildren, Alisha R. Buckman, Allie R. Buckman, Phoebe M. Stephens, John Y. “Jack” Stephens, Dinah B. Stephens and Yardley D. “Trey” Buckman, III, and her siblings, Dr. James L. Borland, Jr. (Lee-Margaret), Susan B. Huston, Rev. Thomas P. Borland (Sally), Craig Lowe, extended family John & Patsy Gaillard and their children Martha Brice Gaillard, John W. Gaillard, Rachel G. Sandlin, numerous nieces and nephews. She was a woman who always looked for the best in people, loved to laugh, and cherished her grandchildren. Her passing marked the end of her struggles in this world and the beginning of her eternal life with God. She will be missed always. Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
