Kristen Poppell

Kristen Poppell

Kristen Poppell, 27, of Yulee passed away Sunday May 19, 2019.

Kristen leaves behind her husband, Chase, her mother and father Gloria and Dwayne Glover, brother Kevin Glover, sister Amanda Muse, father-in-law and mother-in-law Graig and Tonya Poppell, brother Kyle Poppell, and her adopted children Ace and Arrow.

Always one to put her faith in God first and live it out continuously, Kristen showed selflessness in giving of her time and efforts to help anyone who needed it. She volunteered in various ministries through her church, Faithbridge, as well as The Vine in mission trips, dance, leading classes, and so much more

Kristen Poppell earned her Master’s in 2015 from the University of Florida and moved forward to work with them in Nassau County’s 4H program, coordinating many of the County Extension Office’s youth outreach programs, youth day camps and resident camps, and was the leader of the 4-H County Council teaching teens, among much more. She taught them about citizenship and community service, leading many programs such as the YUM (Youth Understanding MyPlate) Program and the Youth Leadership Nassau Program. Kristen made quite a mark in the lives of the children she worked with. They absolutely adored her. The parents of these students had nothing but praise of the sweet and kind person she was. For this dedication, among many others, she was awarded the Young Professional Award in 2018 from UF by her peers and colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Faithbridge Missions at www.wearefaithbridge.com  with the word “missions” in the notes section, or to a scholarship set up in Kristen’s name at University of Florida Foundation PO box 110170 Gainesville, FL 32611 with memo of “in memory of Kristen Poppell” or online at https://www.uff.ufl.edu/give/poppell/.
