Lawton Landon Sr, age 83 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Wednesday September 27th, 2023. He was born on October 5th, 1939, in Offerman, Georgia. The son of George Ottis Landon and Vera (Roberson) Landon.
Lawton was a hardworking man who loved the Lord and his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Norma Jean (Lightbody) Landon; his children, Mart Landon (LoriAnn), Sophia Landon Kirk (Robert), Lawton Landon, Jr., and Cendy Landon Jones (James). He was a loving grandfather to Jake, Jesse, Jenna, Melissa, Austin, Stephen, Bradley, Joshua, Brandi, Ashley, Mariah, and Morgan. He was a proud great-grandfather to 20 great-grandchildren. Lawton is also survived by his siblings; Wanda, Shirley, Betty (Bett), Joshua (Josh), and Jerry Paul.
Lawton dedicated 45 years of his life to his career as a Master Mechanic. He was known for his exceptional skills and dedication to his work. In his free time, Lawton enjoyed livestock farming, gardening, and fishing. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature.
Lawton is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Janice, J.R., Ray, James, Jeanette, Julian and his grandson, Bradley.
A Celebration of Lawton’s life will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, October 13th at Calvary Baptist Church, 4040 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida, 32218. Pastor George Kratochvil will officiate. The compassionate staff at Evergreen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements during this difficult time.
Lawton Landon, Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished.

MR. Landon, one of my favorite memories of all. I remember you well and have loved you through out my life Iife. You were a fare and honest man. Corrected me when I was wrong but never turned your back on me. I felt your love and Mrs. Landons always. I’ll miss you through out the rest of my days and will forever keep you and your family in my heart. Rest easy and if you don’t mind can you explaine to Jeaus that I’m not all that bad.
