Mark Thomas McKie, born December 15, 1959 in Savannah Georgia, and went home to be with the Lord December 31, 2020.
Mark was up early every morning reading his Bible and praying. It was no secret that he loved God first and his family unconditionally. He loved being together and making good memories, and he defined strength and protection. He valued true friends and treated them like family. He was well-known for going out of his way to help anyone in need and was drawn to care for the homeless. He was adventurous, playful and loved a good prank, but he stood for what he believed in, was not afraid to look a person in the eye, had a firm handshake, and was a man of his word. He also took great pride in a strong work ethic. He had a green thumb and preferred to be outdoors cultivating the earth, and he instilled his appreciation and wisdom of nature to his children. He loved family time together at the beach and he enjoyed a good fire. Of all the things he loved to do, being a Papa to Zoe was his favorite.
Mark was preceded by both of his loving parents, James and Beverly McKie
Mark is survived by his wife and best friend, Evelyn McKie, his brother, Jeff McKie, his sister, Cathy Dobson (and Michael Dobson), and his five children, Joshua McKie (and Katherine McKie), Brandy McKie (and John Cook), Corey McKie, Ann Purvis, and Anthony McKie, and his grand-daughter, Zoe McKie, his mother-in-law, Wanda Carver, brother-in-law, John McElveen, sister-in-law, Latrell Rouse, and countless extended family and friends.
Mark, we will always miss you. Your love and God’s peace fills our senses. As we find our footing and move day by day into the future, we will be mindful of you in all of our moments and look forward to our reunion in Heaven. This is not the end. All ways and forever.

I will will always remember the fun days at Garden City with Mark, Evelyn and the kids. Mark was part of the moving team both times I moved. He was always great company and had a heart of gold. I know his homegoing has left a void for all who knew him. But we will all have that Grand Reunion in Heaven.
Love and Prayers to all my McKie family,
Sis. Nikki
