Miguel Angel Ortiz Rodriguez, it is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the family of Miguel (Mr. Mike or Mike) Ortiz passed away peacefully after a couple of months of battling health conditions, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the age of 80 years old.
After a lifetime of beautiful, funny, and loving years, Miguel (Mr. Mike or Mike) Ortiz will without a doubt always be remembered with the upmost spiritual thoughts by his wife of 42 years, Rosalyn, and his children. Miguel (Purulito), Michelle, Dali, and Michael. Miguel will also be profoundly remembered by his three grandchildren, Miguel (gordo), John Michael, Eden, along with his siblings, Jossie, Juanico, Uchi and Tati, Nelson & Enrique (nephews), by sister-in-law Carmen Laureano de Ortiz.
Miguel was born on September 26, 1942, in Cidra, Puerto Rico predeceased by parents Jose Ortiz and Cruz Maria Rodriguez. He worked as a taxi driver for 15 years serving all who needed transportation in Puerto Rico. Afterwards, wanting to provide a better opportunity for his family. He then decided to move out of Puerto Rico and move to the Florida. Where he first landed a job working as a forklift driver for General Electric for 16 years in Jacksonville, Florida. Mike always had an uncanny ability to make people laugh, whether it was by pranking them or telling gut busting jokes. Throughout his life he absolutely loved helping people in any shape, form, or fashion. Miguel was a devoted husband with the highest unconditional love for his wife and a loving father for all his children and grandchildren. He truly was an angel sent from heaven with a personality that left an imprint in so many lives.
A visitation will be held from 2PM to 4PM Tuesday March 7th, 2023 in Evergreen Chapel 4535 Main St Jacksonville, Florida 32206. A Funeral Mass will be held 10AM Wednesday March 8th, 2023 at St Patrick’s Catholic Church 601 Airport Center Dr E, Jacksonville, FL 32218. A visitation will be held in the church from 9AM until Mass time.
