Norville

Joyce Baxter Norville, 87, of Jacksonville, Florida, was born May 8, 1934 in Jacksonville and died peacefully on December 14, 2021. Joyce spent her early years in West Florida, then returned to Jacksonville and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1952. She has remained close to many of her classmates throughout the years. As a homemaker, Joyce found her calling. Her culinary skills – as once featured in the Jacksonville Journal – became legendary. In the early 70s, she picked up the game of tennis and ruled the courts at Boone Park. When grandchildren started to arrive in the 80s, she found a new and purposeful focus. A lifelong member of the Episcopal Church, she truly lived a blessed life.

Joyce is predeceased by her husband, Raymond Norville and her sister Betty Koebrich. She is survived by her children, Paula Lamb (Bronson) and Lee Norville (Susan), her grandchildren Palmer (Ben), Bronson, Charlie, Claire, and John, two great grandchildren, her nephew Chris Baxter, as well as other extended family and dear friends.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Windsor of Ortega and to Community Hospice and Palliative Care of Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to The Church of the Good Shepherd, 1100 Stockton Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204 or the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main Street (Gate 5 entrance) with the Reverend Gerald G. Alexander officiating.

Arrangements are with Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery (904) 353-3649.
