Pamela Arrocena, 69, passed away on September 17, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.
She was born in Macon, Georgia, and moved to Jacksonville, Florida, when she was an infant. She became a resident of Hilliard, Florida, in 2017.
Pam most enjoyed spending her time with her granddaughter and best friend Lily. They loved going to the movies together and spending time at the Jetties. Pam’s favorite place was the beach, and it provided her peace and comfort. She also spent lots of time loving on her furry companion, Sunny, taking trips to her favorite stores with him and taking him for walks in his fancy shoes.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to Pam’s dearest friends Teresa Fedick and Alex Zey for all the assistance they provided to Pam during her battle with cancer. You are both angels and we love you.
She is predeceased by her husband, Chris; daughter Katina Hendrix; parents, William and Gladys Calhoun; sister, Teresa Scott; brother, Joseph Calhoun; and nephews, Ron and Jonathan Jarvis. She is survived by her children Angela (Mike) Collins, Michael (Abigail) Calhoun, and Creig (Monisha) Arrocena; grandchildren Lily, Joseph, Timothy, Patricia, Molly, Omar, and Amber; and brother Gary (Susan) Calhoun.
Services will be held graveside at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM with Pastor Gerald Wollitz officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care (https://thefoundationcares.org/give/).

So sorry for your loss, she is free of pain and i just know she must be dancing in heaven.. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. 🙏❤️
My sister, Pamela Calhoun Arrocena, died this week…
She left me the sole survivor of our nuclear family. It is strange to now walk the planet as the sole survivor.
Grief will now be my companion for some time to come. I have met Grief before and know it will stay until it is finished with me.
Some companions walk with us to provide comfort. Grief walks beside us with comfort, pain, and lingering questions never to be answered.
Grief is a companion whose hand you want to take and push away. You want to push away the pain and pull in the memories.
Grief is a companion that comes and goes at its leisure. How long Grief stays is always a mystery.
Grief is like a shadow that follows you and is always near. Sometimes the shadow appears in the corner of your eye. Sometimes the shadow is a dark cloud that covers your world. The shadow of Grief will creep in and leave without warning.
Grief is never welcomed, but oddly missed when it fades away.

Dedicated to my sister, Pamela Calhoun Arrocena
Mrs Pam was such an inspiration, someone who held fast to her faith and was not ashamed to speak of his mercy and blessings regardless of how she was feeling. Prayers to all of her family and friends as you learn to.navigate without the spunk and tenacity. Mrs Pam was known for. I will miss her.
There is a group of us here in Louisiana that will be forever grateful for Pam & Chris who were so special to us
