Queen Victoria Seymore

Queen Victoria Seymore

Queen Victoria Seymore, affectionately known as “Queenie” by her family and “Vickie” by her friends and business associates, peacefully departed this life on August 13, 2024, to take her place as an Ambassador in God’s kingdom. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and cherished friend.
Born on November 1, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Willie Williams, Sr. and Verna Mae Brunson, Queen Victoria was the third eldest of nine siblings. From a young age, she showed a passion for learning and always strived to be the best version of herself. She graduated in 1969 in the top 3% of her class at Stanton, proudly identifying as a Blue Devil. She went on to pursue higher education, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration. In addition, her determination led her to pass her real estate exams, earning both her Realtor and Broker Realtor licenses.
Her first position in real estate was with Watson Realty, where she began her impressive career. She later joined A.F. Alan Custom Homes, selling countless homes in Lydia Estates, Lois Estates, and Jacob Estates. Queen Victoria’s impact on the community was further solidified when Victoria Landing Subdivision was named in her honor—a tribute to her lasting legacy in Jacksonville and her family.
Queen Victoria excelled in real estate, driven by her love for people and her remarkable ability to connect with everyone she met. She had a gift for communication, and her genuine care for others drew her to participate in various organizations and community groups. There wasn’t a person she encountered that she didn’t engage with; her heart for people shone in every interaction.
At the age of 18, Queen Victoria embarked on her most treasured role: motherhood. She lovingly raised her three children, Taurina, Lamar, and Johnny, who were her pride and joy. When she became a grandmother, her life grew even richer with the arrival of Lamar Jr. and Victoria, who she fondly referred to as “her babies.”
Despite her large family, Queen Victoria always made time for them, especially the children. She was a constant presence at family gatherings, known for bringing her famous brownies, and she took great joy in attending her nieces’ and nephews’ special milestones. Although she had hoped to have many children herself, she felt it was God’s plan for her to pour her love into other children as well. This led her back to school to earn a degree in Child Education, where she later obtained her Director’s License to run a daycare. The children adored her, as did their parents; she was a gentle soul yet firm in her care and guidance.
Queen Victoria is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Williams, Sr., and Verna Mae Brunson, as well as her siblings Willie Williams, Jr., and Chavella Yvette Andrews. She leaves behind her beloved daughter Taurina (Dennis), her two sons Lamar (Stacey) and Johnny, her sisters Yvonne, BettyAnn, Gail (Wanda), Sharon (Aubrey), Clarice (Americus) and Johnetta, and her brother Greg. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Lamar Jr. and Victoria, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt. Though she has left this world, her legacy lives on through her family and friends, who rejoice in the memory of her love, kindness, and unwavering presence in their lives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday August 20th, 2024 at St Paul Missionary Baptist Church 3738 Winton Drive Jacksonville, Florida 32208. Arrangements by Evergreen Funeral Home & Chapel (904) 353-3649.

She was magnificent, the Queen of her throne

To the Family of Queen “Vickie” Seymore, this is a terrible lost for us all, including myself. Vickie loved her family and would do anything that needed to be done for each of you. Vickie Loved her children and her Grandchild Victoria!!! I loved her unconditionally and she was the best friend and confidante that I always needed, Now I have to go on without that security she displayed to me and also me to her. Just know Vickie that I will carry you in my heart forever, this hurts so bad!!!!! Even though we are all hurting with your lost, God saw fit to take you out of this dreadful condition. I love you Vickie and Rest in Peace!!!!!!!!!

What a beautiful picture of Queenie. My one regret is that I never told her how her confidence was so encouraging. Her intelligence and business savvy was inspiring.

Everyone always says they had the best mama. I truly did have an AMAZING mother. My only regret is that I didn’t tell her enough on how much I loved her and how much I valued her thoughts and how she guided me to be the woman I am today. My mission in life is to find a way to keep your name and legacy alive so that your granddaughter will truly understand her beginning. Thank you for ALAWAYS being there and always loving me for who I was. I didn’t realize how much of a focal point in my life you were until you were taken from me. I cry every day because my best friend was taken from me, and I have a void in my life that cannot be replaced. Spread your wings mom and travel and keep making friends. You lived a great life on earth that will extend to the heavens.
