Ramona Davis, 67 passed away on January 2, 2021 in Laurel, Maryland. She was a native of Jacksonville, Florida born on May 10, 1953 to Garfield Davis Sr. and Catherine Hankins Davis. She was a great story storyteller, determined, loyal, a wicked sense of humor, loving and most of all a woman with a big heart, I called her my big sister. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, gambling in Atlantic City and life. My sister ran on two cylinders she loved you or hated you for her there really was not in between. I would like to think love ruled her heart, mind and some interesting times shared with many people from many walks of life.
Ramona put her Civil Engineering degree from University of District of Columbia and Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville to use a project manager at WSSC of Laurel, Maryland for 29 years and 11 months. She retired in 2016.
Ms. Davis was preceded in death by her mother Catherine A. Davis Sr., her father Garfield Davis Sr., and sibling’s sister Selena Hayes (Glenn) and brother, Andrew Gilley.
Precious memories will linger in the hearts of sister Catherine A.Davis Jr., brothers Johnathan ‘John’ Davis (Regina), Garfield Davis Jr. nieces, Charlena Payton (JP), Catherine Rayford (Tyson), grand nieces and nephews, Hankins, Worthen & Redd Families, and friends.
A few lines from the song, Evergreen. Ramona like this song and I truly believed she felt this about love in general. Now that she is gone. I am glad God allowed her rest and Evergreen is true for her at last. We love you Ramona and you will always be in our hearts.
“Like a rose under the April snow
I was always certain love would grow
Love ageless and evergreen.“
