Richard Peyton Deese Jr, a native of Jacksonville Florida, passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2020, after a lengthy illness.
Rick was born on July 25, 1953 to Peggy Joyce Conner and Richard Peyton Deese Sr.
Rick was an electrician by trade; a member of IBEW Local 177; and owner and operator of Deco Electrical Construction.
He faithfully attended First Coast Christian Center for the past fifteen years.
Fishing and being out on the water in his boat was Rick’s greatest passion.
Rick loved to read his Bible and study the Scriptures. During the weeks prior to his home going he was studying about love. His notes said we are to love one another, encourage others, be a blessing to others, edify and build one another up, be hospitable to others, love God with all our heart and love our enemies. He wrote the greatest thing in the world is to become channels for God’s love to share so others will see Him through us. His Scripture references were Romans 12:3, John 13:35, John 14:1-3, 15-17 and Psalm 19:7-11, 14.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Lewis and his brother, Shane Deese.
He is survived by his wife Carmen of thirteen years, his parents Richard and Pat Deese, three children, Scott, Shelly and Lucas, three grandchildren, Ansley, Mackenzie and Carter, his sister Sharon Hice and his brother Michael Deese.
