Sara Harris Corse, of Atlantic Beach, Florida passed away on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022. She was 94. Sara was born July 31, 1928, in Jesup, Georgia to Robert Lee and Lena (Reddish) Harris. She was affectionally known as Momo to all who loved her.
Sara moved to Jacksonville after graduating from the University of Georgia and pursed a career in social work. She met and married Herbert L. Corse, MD. She enjoyed a full life with friends and family. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Junior League of Jacksonville. She was also a member of the Florida Yacht Club and St. Paul’s by the Sea Episcopal Church. She enjoyed family and friends at Atlantic Beach Florida and was the quintessential hostess to all her visited her home.
Sara is survived by her 4 children, Susan Corse Adams (Charlie), Carol Corse Worsham, (Ronnie), Robert Lucien Corse (Eileen) Roger Doggett Corse (Michelle). She loved deeply her grandchildren, Chris Corse (Elaine), Kelsey Adams, Ben Adams (Hannah), Matthew Worsham (Karen), David Worsham (Rebekah), Mark Worsham (Alexa), Michael Corse, Brian Jennings (Diana), Jaclyn McLelland (John). She was blessed with 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert L Corse, MD.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 15th at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory – (904) 353-3649.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
