Shirley A. Ward, 90, from Jacksonville, Florida passed away suddenly at her residence Wednesday afternoon. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel, 4535 Main Street, in Jacksonville. Viewing will be held at 1 P.M. with burial services to follow on-site immediately thereafter in Evergreen Cemetery.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert E. Ward Jr., two sisters, Marilyn Guinn and Gloria Jones and one brother, Bill Allen.
She is survived by a remaining sister, Myra Rye and her husband, Dale.
She is survived by her eldest son, Robert E. Ward III, and his wife Sandra and granddaughter Amy Ryals.
Shirley is also survived by her youngest son, William A. Ward Sr., and his wife Mona, and her granddaughter Ashley M. Corbett and grandson William A. Ward Jr. and wife Amanda.
Also surviving her are great grandchildren, Dylan, Hannah, and Lane and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Shirley worked many years in the admitting department of old Saint Lukes Hospital in Jacksonville and ultimately retired after a very long career as Supervisor of Personnel for the Florida Department of Health.
She was deeply loved by all of her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
