In Loving Memory of Shirley Bishop

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley A. Bishop, who passed away on March 20th. Born in 1945, Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Shirley was a loving person and known for her nurturing spirit. Above all, Shirley was a loving and devoted family member. She cherished her role as a mother to her two children and as a grandmother to six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. Her family was the center of her world, and she showered them with love, warmth, and kindness. Shirley was also a loving sister and a friend to many, always ready with a listening ear, an encouraging word, and a helping hand.

A woman of deep faith, Shirley was a lifelong Christian whose love for the Lord guided her through every aspect of her life. She now rests in the arms of her Savior, reunited with her beloved parents, Annie and Brooks, in the peace of Heaven.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Stanley Bishop, Sr., her children Wanda and Stanley Jr., her six grandchildren Julia, Tristan, Amelia, Ashton, Stanley, and Savannah, great-grandchildren Ava and Cohen, her sister Sally, and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Shirley’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be forever remembered for her generous spirit, her infectious smile, and the unwavering love she shared with those around her.

Her life will be celebrated on April 19th at 12 pm at the Lake Asbury Community Center at 82 Branscomb Rd, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society.

May she rest in peace.

Sending my condolences to Shirley’s entire family. My heart hurts for you my friend Wanda. Losing a mother is a pain that will never go away. I’m here for you through this transition in life. Everytime I hear a George Strait song I’ll be thinking of you Shirley
