Life Journey of Theresa “Reese” Jones

Theresa “Reese” Josephine Jones was born on December 1, 1953, in Springfield, Ohio, and entered eternal rest from Altamonte Springs, Florida, on October 17, 2025. She was the beloved firstborn of the late Odell and Juel Jones.

From an early age, Reese stood out as bright, determined, and full of life. She excelled academically and was active in cheerleading, Upward Bound, and the drill team as co-captain. Her parents drilled into her the habit of walking with her head up and carrying herself with respect.

A natural provider and protector, Reese was deeply devoted not only to her children but also to her mother and sisters. In a world where many only talk about helping, Reese truly did help in meaningful and practical ways. Her love was active, expressed through her generosity, time, and unwavering loyalty.  Reese worked hard professionally so she could live her best life personally. She was an accomplished real estate agent, consistently recognized as a top producer and honored as a member of the Million Dollar Club. Remarkably, she achieved these milestones while making family her top priority, often
pausing her real estate work during the summer months to focus fully on her children. Those summers were filled with beach trips, Orlando adventures, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

She loved to travel, especially taking cruises to beautiful destinations, and she also found joy in hosting gatherings at her home. Her house was often filled with laughter, good food, fun times, and good company. As a mother, she was the “cool mom” that everyone wanted to be around. She was fun-loving, supportive, and full of energy.

Though full of fun, Reese was also firm in her principles. She valued doing the right thing, speaking honestly, and living by the Golden Rule. Her hobbies reflected her zest for life. She loved playing cards and backgammon, as well as gardening (“playing in the dirt,” as she fondly called it) and baking pies, especially lemon meringue and key lime pies.

Reese loved music. Luther Vandross, D’Angelo, and smooth jazz filled her playlists. She enjoyed karaoke nights at the house with Earl and jazz in the park. Her life was a melody of laughter, love, and purpose.  She lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously. Her life is a reminder always to courageously put your best foot forward, no matter what your circumstances.

Reese leaves to cherish her memory her immediate family, Earl Williams, Sr., her beloved children Erica Denise Williams and Earl “Chilly” Williams, Jr., and her grandson, Earl Williams, III; her siblings Bridget Canedy, Cynthia White (William), Odell Jones, Jr. (LeEllen), Marletta Womack (Carl), and Raina Jones; a great aunt, a great uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Juel Jones, and other dear loved ones who now welcome her home.
