Thomas Frederick Mann, Jr. died on May 13, 2018 at the age of 66. He was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida where he was born to Thomas Frederick and Jean Flynn Mann, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Rhonda Campbell Mann; his two sons, Carson Frederick Mann and Bradley Thomas Mann; his brother, William Randall Mann (Anne) of Jacksonville; his sister Jean Mann Hardesty (Ben) of Clarksburg, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mann was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and attended Georgia Southern University. He was a loyal employee of the United Parcel Service for 41 years. He was a member of the Men’s Club at Assumption Catholic Church where he was a parishioner. He was a valued member and active volunteer in his sons’ Boy Scout Troop 106 at Assumption Catholic Church where he devoted himself to the leadership of young men and the Christian ideals of the program. A stalwart and committed leader, he was always ready to lend a helping hand whether it was at meetings, camp outs, or for service projects. His reliable leadership impacted the lives of the entire troop. He was commended by the other scout leaders for his unfailing dedication that was no doubt a reflection of the love of his sons. In his youth, Mr. Mann was a junior golf champion. He was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 18 in the St. Joseph’s Chapel at Assumption Catholic Church from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 19 at Assumption Catholic Church. A reception will follow in Kohl’s Hall. Interment service in Evergreen Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Boy Scout Troop 106 and mailed to Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
