Tootsie Roberta Lourcey

Tootsie Roberta Lourcey, nee Adams, passed into the hereafter, Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at age 85. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Augustus Lourcey, parents Robert (Bob) Lee Adams and Della D. Adams, her siblings Tommy Adams, Bobbie Adams, Bootsie Adams Rhodes and her son-in-law R.W. “Bud” Coe.  She is survived by her chidren Lee Ann (Lourcey) Coe, Michael Henry Lourcey (Cherie Will), grandchildren Nicole Coe Kelly, Brian Lourcey and Kelly Lourcey.  Tootsie was born in Dayhoit, KY, August 20, 1933. She and her family migrated to Jacksonville, FL, when she was 16.  She moved with her husband and children to California in 1967 and returned to Florida in 1985 with her husband.  For the last 13 years she lived in Fernandina Beach, Florida.  She will be cremated and entombed at Evergeen Cemetery, alongside her husband.    A memorial will be held at 2:00 pm this Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 165 Camden Woods Pkwy, Kingsland, GA (912) 729-6085

    For those who knew her, she was a hoot. She was the one that would allow you to get in trouble and help you get out after you had learned your lesson.

    She was fun, tenacious, high-spirited, creative, compassionate when she needed to be and hard on you when you needed it.

    She was the matriarch of all us kids from our birth to her death. She will continue to live in our hearts and our minds as we hear her voice tell us what we did right and what we did wrong AND giving us that look when appropriate.
