Born:06/09/1947
Died:03/29/2015

W.Daniel (Danny)Weaver, 67, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 29th, 2015. He was born in Orlando, Florida on June 9th, 1947. He grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Bishop Kenny in 1965 and FSU in 1969. A Navy veteran, he retired from Prudential/IBM after 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Anne, children Amy (Steve) McClurg of Casselberry, Daniel (Kacie) Weaver of Palm Coast and granddaughter Kyleigh Weaver. He is also survived by brothers Mike and Pete (Cindy) Weaver, sisters Sherry Watson, Georgianna Grundig and Marcia Nasser, numerous nieces and nephews, and best friend since childhood Paul Reilly. Danny enjoyed running, biking, boating, traveling, gardening, volunteering and spending time with the many lifelong friends he made in these activities. Danny volunteered as a member of the HabiJax “Wednesday Gang” for over 10 years and with the SJDR “Wine & Cheese” ministry for even longer. As a runner, he completed 14 marathons, qualifying for Boston twice. But his real passion was his family. He was his children’s biggest fan and he spent countless hours coaching sports and cheering at dance and piano recitals. He loved vacationing with family and friends (annual ski trips, Keys trips, cruises, destination marathons). He particularly enjoyed the 30-year-strong July lobstering vacations, with his sweet granddaughter Kyleigh being the newest addition to this tradition. He leaves a legacy of what it means to focus your life on the things that really matter. A gathering of friends and family will be 10am Monday April 6th, at San Juan del Rio Catholic Church in Switzerland, Florida. A memorial Mass will follow at 11am with Father Greg Fay officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HabiJax or Community Hospice in Danny’s name.
