William Davis Colledge

William Davis Colledge (Bill), age 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on April 19, 2024, after a brief illness. Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Suzanne Charbonnet Colledge (Suzi), their two children Sean (Michelle) and Kimberly Colledge, their three grandchildren Gillian, Adelaide, and Andrew Colledge, his twin brother Shepherd Colledge (Eleanor), his sisters Mary Colledge O’Leary (Dave) Kathleen Peneguy and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Miriam Colledge.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Bill lived on a farm from age 3-11 when they moved back to Jacksonville. After graduating from the Bolles School he attended Loyola University where he met the love of his life, Suzi. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in business administration and was in the Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity. Upon graduation he served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the Army reserves.

Bill had a successful 40-year career in banking beginning with Atlantic Bank in Jacksonville. He attended Stonier School of Banking. Through mergers and acquisitions, he moved and worked for several banks, eventually moving to Tallahassee where he lived for 28 years. He saved the best for last when he went to work for Capital City Bank in Tallahassee.

A true believer in community service, Bill was a 30-year volunteer with the American Heart Association, eventually serving as the National American Heart Association Board Chairman. While in Tallahassee he served as the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, United Way Campaign. He served on the board of the Community Foundation, School Board Foundation, Workforce Plus and World Class Schools.

As a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church he served as a lector, finance chairman and on the Bishop’s Foundation Board.

After retiring, he and Suzi moved back to Jacksonville to be closer to family and longtime friends. He enjoyed traveling, and playing bad golf at Timuquana Country Club where he was a member for over 50 years.

A memorial celebration will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1773 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida.  A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations to American Heart Association or Community Hospice would be appreciated.
