Y.L. (Yancey Lamar) Anthony died suddenly July 16, 2016 following a prolonged illness. Y.L. was born in Walker County, Alabama February 13, 1922. He graduated Samford University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and did graduate work at Vanderbilt. Rev. Anthony served pastorates in Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and was the first pastor of First Baptist Church, Ft Walton Beach, FL. He also served as a member of the Florida Baptist State Board of Missions and the State of Florida Welfare Board. He was an avid student of history and a world traveler.

Y.L. is survived by his wife of 32 years, the former Betty Arlene Pratt, and their beloved Shih Tzu, Sasha; niece and nephew, Tula and Leo Tisa, and other nieces, nephews, cousins, and very best friend Dr. Fred Holbrooks.

Burial will be in Fort Walton Beach.
