Femi Atoki was born on March 31, 1973, in Washington D.C. He was the cherished son of Grace and Michael Atoki, who welcomed their first child into the world with great love and hope.
Femi attended Florida State College, where he pursued his studies, finding a passion for learning that would guide him throughout his career. He spent some time as an Information Technology support technician from 2000 to 2005.
In 2005, he began his professional journey with ADT as a customer service representative. His dedication and work ethic led him to opportunities at Citi Bank, Ally Financial, and finally Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he excelled as a Financial Analyst. His colleagues knew him not only for his skill and insight but for his kindness and constant willingness to help others.
In 2017, Femi met the love of his life, Mimi, and that relationship grew into a deep friendship and a beautiful marriage. Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and affection. Femi adored Mimi, his parents, his brothers, and his extended family. He especially loved writing postcards and gifting 3D-printed artwork to his nephews and nieces: Jeremiah, Derek, Noah, Ada, Demilade, and Danielle. Femi also found passion in building, fixing, and flying custom drones, enjoying every moment in which he could create something special.
Femi had a generous heart, always ready to offer encouragement and financial support to those in need. His caring spirit touched countless lives, making everyone who knew him feel seen and valued. For several years, Femi was an active member of Christ Resurrection Power Assembly (CREPA), where his faith flourished, and he grew in humility and devotion.
In 2023, Femi was diagnosed with brain cancer, beginning a challenging journey which he faced with immense courage. With the unwavering love and support of Mimi, his family, and friends, Femi remained hopeful and full of grace. Cancer never stole his bright spirit, nor his faith in God. He stayed positive, cheerful, and strong, leaning on his sense of humor and deep faith even in the most difficult moments. On October 9, 2024, he transitioned out of this world surrounded by loved ones.
Femi is survived by his beloved wife Mimi (who is expecting their son), his son Lekan, his stepson Hervin, his loving parents Grace and Michael, his brothers Yemi, Gbolahan and Tayo, his esteemed aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family who will always remember him as a beacon of warmth and kindness. Femi’s godmother, Mrs. Mary Graham, will also fondly remember him.
Though he is no longer with us, Femi lives on—in the hearts of those who knew him and in the memories of his love, creativity, and generosity. By the grace of God, his eternal spirit now resides in heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Femi, you will forever be missed, but your love and light will continue to shine brightly in all of us.
