Kenneth A. Morris Jr.

Kenneth A. Morris Jr.

Kenneth A. Morris Jr., affectionately known as Kenny, passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 87.

Kenny was born on June 13, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Dr. Kenneth Morris and Mildred Morris. He was the youngest of three children, growing up alongside his older siblings, Sandy and Lockie Morris.

As a teenager, Kenny left Florida to attend The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. He later graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, with a degree in English. Following college, Kenny enlisted in the United States Army and served in Okinawa.

Kenny returned home and married Imogene Cantlin in 1967. Together, they welcomed two children, Kenneth A. Morris III in 1967 and Kimberly W. Morris in 1970.

For most of his working life, Kenny was a successful citrus grower in St. Lucie County, Florida. He began his career managing citrus groves and, with help from family, eventually purchased a grove of his own. He later expanded his business by establishing a citrus nursery that supplied trees to local growers for the remainder of his career. His work reflected the qualities that defined him throughout his life: patience, perseverance, humility, and quiet determination.

In 1991, Kenny married Barbara Hanson, the love of his life. Their son, William M. Morris, was born later that year. After Barbara’s passing in 1996, Kenny devoted himself to raising William, guiding him into the loving husband, father, and soon-to-be grandfather he is today.

Kenny is survived by his three children, Kenneth A. Morris III, Kimberly W. Morris, and William M. Morris; his cherished niece, Leighton Holmes; his nephew, Kenny Holmes; and many other members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Hanson Morris.

Kenny lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family, hard work, and unconditional love. His children are profoundly grateful for their father’s humble nature, steady guidance, and unwavering devotion. He was immensely proud of each of them and of the lives and families they built.

Kenny will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, at the Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, located at 4535 Main St. Jacksonville, FL. At 10:00AM. Services will start at 10:30AM at the same location.
